Så har jeg også lagt stemme til klagekoret:
This legislation is absolutely filled with flaws and the way it is being rushed thru is un-democratic in nature. The act of banning semi automatic rifles, shotguns or pistols will rob thousands of hunters, shooters and collectors of their legally purchased firearms. Shooting sports like IPSC rifle and pistol would disappear in the blink of an eye. Hunters sometimes need a semi-automatic rifle for dangerous game. You are seriously suggesting confiscating and destroying thousands, if not millions of firearms, and paying no form of compensation? A normal semi automatic rifle will cost at between 500- 2500€. There is no proof that banning semiautomatic firearms will effect criminals or terrorists, in fact disarming the populous further, will only make it safer for criminals. The guns used in the Paris attacks were illegal, unregistered and fully automatic. The real issue is smuggled in guns from the Balkans, not legally held firearms. Even the so called "military looking firearms" do not get used in crime. They are used by sports shooters, hunters and collectors. Also, there is no clear definition of what makes a gun look "automatic/ military/ evil", which means this proposal is a carte blanc to ban all guns. Even former semiautomatic firearms, converted to single shot, repeating rifles will be banned according to this proposal, despite being no faster at shooting than a normal bolt action rifle. The group in charge of writing this draconian piece of legislature, are highly biased and affiliated with political groups who are known to support a complete ban on all privately owned firearms. Mr. Fabio Marini has told outright lies to further his political agenda. No shooters, hunters or knowledgeable NGOs have been involved in the drafting of this legislature; only people with a political agenda to ban firearms. This legislature has no impact assessment, because such an assessment would show, that this legislation will do nothing to combat crime. This fact is also highly suspicious, as impact assessment are an important part of the legislative process in the European Union. The feedback on this proposal has already been deleted by the commision once "because the feedback was too similar"; this is proof that this comission is corrupt, and ignores the voice of the european people. At last, the timing for this is perfect. Unnecessary, draconian legislature can fly thru the parliament with no resistance, as long as the people voting are in shock after the recent terrorist attacks. This is un-democratic, and all this legislature should be paused and reviewed by proper, legitimate channels before imposing it on member states. Regards, --------
